We were proud to see our Impact Producer, Ghadir Taira, represent Crocodopolis at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) in Dubai, contributing to global conversations around climate justice, storytelling, and biodiversity.
As part of the official program, Ghadir participated in the panel discussion “Local Stories, Global Impact”, alongside filmmakers Abeer Bayazidi and Bassam Alasaad. The panel explored the role of filmmakers in local climate initiatives, highlighting how storytelling is not only a creative expression but a powerful tool for raising climate awareness and inspiring action. Ghadir shared insights from her work on Crocodopolis, discussing how art and media can intersect with grassroots environmental work to foster long-term impact.
On December 12, Ghadir joined Khaled El-Noby, CEO of Nature Conservation Egypt (NCE), at the Entertainment + Culture Pavilion for a dedicated talk titled “Crocodopolis Impact Campaign: A Tool to Promote Environmental Awareness.” Together, they presented the core mission of the campaign: to change the narrative around Nile crocodiles, shed light on the ecological importance of Lake Nasser, and amplify efforts to protect endangered species in Egypt.
It was an incredible opportunity to showcase Crocodopolis as an example of how locally rooted stories can spark dialogue and action at the global level.
We are deeply grateful to Culture Resource – Al Mawrid Al Thaqafi, and all our partners who made this experience possible. Stay tuned as we continue to expand the impact of Crocodopolis beyond the screen.
